Artist in Residence

My artist residencies span three continents, forming the backbone of my practice as a contemporary landscape artist. From exploring Scottish heritage at Dumfries House and Devon woodlands to immersing myself in Tuscan countryside and Provençal light, these experiences have taken me from familiar British landscapes to the vibrant markets of India and the wildlife corridors of Kenya. Each residency—whether through prestigious programs like the Royal Drawing School or independent cultural exchanges—provides essential opportunities to engage deeply with unfamiliar environments and develop fresh observational techniques. These transformative journeys challenge me to respond authentically to place while expanding my artistic vocabulary through sustained environmental engagement, allowing me to step outside familiar contexts and discover new approaches to landscape representation that enrich my studio work for years to come.
